An awesome couple, a gorgeous dress, and two talented, local Seattle wedding vendors – what could be better? I absolutely loved getting to photograph this styled bridal session at Rattlesnake Lake, featuring a gown from one of my favorite Seattle bridal shops, The Dress Theory Seattle, as well as a crazy talented local Seattle florist, Bahtoh!
One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer in Seattle, where there’s truly an abundance of creative folks + fellow wedding vendors, is the opportunity I have to collaborate with some pretty dang talented people. Styled shoots are an awesome way for me to work with my favorite vendors, play around with new skills, create intentional art, and even mentor other photographers, just like I did with this shoot.
Blair + David were the best couple we could’ve asked for to model for these styled woodsy bridal photos at Rattlesnake Lake – I was so thankful they were down to get creative with my mentee and I, as well as The Dress Theory & Bahtoh florals!
I love The Dress Theory Seattle so much and have worked with them a ton, so I thought this would be a fun way to shout them out & show future brides how awesome of a Seattle bridal shop they are. Plus, read to the end to learn more about Bahtoh, an amazing Seattle wedding florist that creates some of the most epic floral pieces you’ve ever seen – trust me on that one.
The Dress Theory, one of the best wedding dress shops in Seattle, is a bridal shop that also has locations in Nashville & San Diego – and has easily become my favorite bridal shop to recommend to brides. They focus on creating intimate & inviting dress shopping experiences for every type of bride, offering pieces from a variety of talented designers that make up their collection of elegant, bespoke wedding dresses. Make sure to give them a follow on IG @thedresstheoryseattle to easily scroll through tons and tons of bridal inspiration + to see their incredible variety of dresses!
I’m constantly hearing amazing things about brides’ experiences shopping for their dresses at The Dress Theory Seattle, and I can imagine it’s pretty great thanks to their detailed dress curation process for each and every bride! They don’t just ask you what style you’re looking for and show you a couple options – they take the time to carefully curate a personal selection for you after learning more about your preferences & wildest dress dreams.
Blair wore a stunning Rime Arodaky gown for this styled bridal session, featuring a floral-lined mesh top with a minimalist tulle train & a leg slit accent. Highly recommend dresses from Rime Arodaky if you’re looking for a unique blend of glamor, fashion-forward style, and one-of-a-kind dresses.
The Seattle branch of The Dress Theory is located at 4232 E Madison St., super close to Madison Park & about a mile north of Washington Park.

Yes! The Dress Theory recommends bringing a fairly small group of your closest friends & family (the boutique can comfortably accommodate 4-6 people) to keep it fun and simple. This is the best way to keep your appointment stress-free and exciting, without a bunch of opinions crowding your thoughts and affecting your personal choice! You’re also more than welcome to Facetime your loved ones while you shop, or ask the stylists to take photos of you to send to friends and family who aren’t there with you.
Sort of! You can book a virtual phone consultation if you want to connect before you have your in-person appointment. The Dress Theory Seattle does offer a few other appointment types, including full 1.5-hour bridal appointments at the Seattle boutique & 30-minute or 1-hour accessory appointments at the boutique.
Depending on the type of appointment you want to book, you can use this link to set up your date & time.
The whole Dress Theory Seattle collection ranges from $1800-$9500, with most of the dresses falling between the $2700-$4700 mark.
If you’re looking for a larger variety of dress options under $2700, or are looking for a dress off-the-rack or a sample gown, the shop recommends you book an appointment with their sister store in Wallingford, LVD Bridal as well as The Dress Theory Seattle!
I also wanted to feature a super talented Seattle Wedding florist, Bahtoh – they do absolutely amazing florals, and any chance I get to work with them is a blast. The team of two is made up of Bobbie, a creative hairstylist (who's been featured in a ton of publications, and even worked with Lady Gaga!), and Michael, a fantastic florist. His floral work is always incredible, filled with unique shapes, textures, & creative designs that totally stand out against the typical wedding flowers. I can’t recommend them enough if you’re getting married in Seattle & looking for an awesome florist who not only does amazing work, but is also such a pleasure to work with!
Enjoy this styled bridal session with Blair + David, with rad contributions from both The Dress Theory Seattle & Bahtoh!
